Awareness of the benefits of wearing gemstones has meant holistic jewellery has become the latest trend for the some of the hottest names in the music industry.
Healing Jewellery Designer Nicky Ray said “Happy” singer, Pharrell Williams is now a fan and echoes her sentiments about healing stones and expressing yourself in your choice of jewellery.
Pharrell Williams is known for reinventing both his music and his image by shunning expensive, oversized bling for stones possessing medicinal values.
“Pharrel has said he feels the stones improve his quality of life,” said Ms Ray.
He recently said that he felt he got it wrong for a long time and that he was competing with others because he wanted to draw attention to himself.
“But in the same way as I realised I wanted to put peaceful things in my music, I decided I should only be wearing jewellery with medicinal and holistic properties," said Pharrell.
“I don't love jewels for what they represent . I love them for what they express, because they're who I am inside," he added.
Ms Ray said it wasn’t only celebrities getting into holistic jewellery.
“People are seeing the benefits and are choosing carefully what they wear, rather than just focusing on the materialistic.”
Ms. Ray said “gemstones are mother nature's natural healers.”

Lapis - Thought to aid in the alleviation of insomnia and depression, Lapis is also known for creating openness, truthfulness, and creativity

Amethyst - Aids in the reduction of insomnia, arthritis, pain relief, and circulatory issues, and is considered the gemstone of meditation, peace, balance, courage, and inner strength.
Gemstones are delightful to give or receive as gifts. Gifting someone with a piece of jewellery adorned with gemstones is the same as offering a healing.
